Omaha Poker Games
Omaha Poker is a popular poker variant and is often seen played in many major poker tournaments. Omaha poker has been one of the most popular variations throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and continues to remain so. The game is quite similar to Texas Holdem where the player shares five community cards. Omaha Poker has three variants: Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha Hi/Lo Split and Omaha Holdem .
Basic Omaha Poker strategy
When compared to Texas Holdem Poker , Omaha poker is considered to be the most challenging poker game. In Omaha Poker, a player has to guess on four cards instead of two as used in Texas Holdem. Another challenging fact is that the players make their combination from two pocket cards and three community cards, so there are high chances of hands being greater. It is a bit difficult to predict the outcome of an Omaha play.
Omaha Hi/Lo is one of the popular Omaha poker variant . There can be two winners in the game of Omaha Hi/Lo. In Omaha Hi/Lo, the player with the best hand will split the pot with player holding the lowest hand, provided that his hand can meet some other requirements. The Omaha Hi/Lo split game is sometimes referred to as Omaha 8 or better.
To qualify a hand as low there must be no cards higher than 8 in your five card hand. As in Omaha poker you use two cards from your hand, there must be three cards on the board that are eight or lower. In the play if there is no qualifying low hand which meets the necessary requirements, then the player with the best hand wins the complete pot.
